Some would say, there is cheese. And then - there is cheese. And then ... there is cheese.
Yes. There is a lot of cheese.
Matter the fact, a lot of food is based on the holy milk cows of Switzerland.
Milk produces a lot of varieties of food. Such as cheese and yoghurt. There is the Raclette - A dish where you melt the cheese slices on a oven and then once its melted add some potatoes and onions and other food with it. Then there is of course the famous fondue - just a bowel of melted cheese where you stick bread in it until its covered with the melted cheese and eat. Of course some inventers have used chocolate fondues - and garlic cheese fondues and so on.
But there is not just cheese and milk. There is a lot more. If you are in a hype of superior quality grown vegetables - you are right in Switzerland. Lots of organic grown food is available through out the food stores in Switzerland at reasonable prices.
Röschti and Wurscht (Hash browns potato with sausage) is a very tasty dish too.
A very simple food, barbequed on open fire is the sausage called "Cervelat" . A tasty mix sausage. Fun for a whole family.
Another dish is called "Züri gschnätzlets" - Which refers to the city of Zurich. Of course, not just the Zurich cookers can cock this dish. "Züri gschnätzlets" is available in same quality and price (probably less) in Interlaken - Switzerland.
And Swiss chocolate - you can not miss that.
